Subject: [EXTERNAL] Solar Power Mixes for Jordan Lake
Hi,
I am aware that you are now taking comments on the feasibility of solar powered mixes in Jordan Lake. You and I both
know that the real solution to pollution of Jordan Lake is cleaning up the source that is upriver and coming down river
from sewage treatment plants that are old, outdated and cannot handle the capacity of a growing population and from
non -point runoff from urban areas and farmland. In my opinion, mixers are a technological fix that won't really solve
the problem. They will only give the impression that pollution is being taken care of.
I do have a question. Do you know of anywhere where mixers are currently being used on a scale equal to Jordan
Lake? Do you know if mixers are solving the pollution problem. If you want to do an experiment, the drinking water
supply for thousands of people is not the place to test an idea. Our society needs to bite the bullet and clean up our
waste products before they are dumped upriver.
Sincerely,
Joe Jacob
