I received a notice that the system had some problems so these deliveries were delayed. It is my understanding that this comment was intended for the staff managing Corps activities at Jordon Lake, and not the regulatory program. I also see that no reply has been requested; however, given the delay in receiving this correspondence, I copied my email to you to Mr. Frei. Thank you, Elizabeth Porter, GIS Professional Special Projects Manager, Regulatory Division US Army Corps of Engineers Wilmington District 910 - 251 -4810 www.saw.usace.army.miI/ - - - -- Original Message---- - From: noreply @dma.mil [mailto:noreply @dma.mil] Sent: Monday, December 16, 2013 9:20 AM To: Porter, Elizabeth D SAW Subject: [EXTERNAL] Wilmington District Contact Form: SolarBees in Jordan Lake This message was sent from the Wilmington District website. Message From: jim frei Email: jdferi @stormwaterroup.com Response requested: No Message: I hear the NCDENR is rushing to get 36 SolarBees installed in Jordan Lake. This is a crazy idea. Without considering the unproven hypothesis (pseudo- science) behind these things, their presence in the lake will create numerous navigation hazards. I would hope that, at a minimum, an EIS as required by NEPA and a 404 certification, would be completed before these devices are installed. However, as an active boater on Jordan Lake, I would hope that the Corps would prohibit these devices completely.
