Dear U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District Mr. Justin Bashaw, Please oppose the use of SolarBees on Jordan Lake. A million people visit the lake each year to camp, swim, boat, paddle or fish and these floating mixers pose a real threat. The mixers sit low in the water and could be easily missed by boaters, water skiers and jet skiers. There is also no evidence that these mixers will work to clean up the pollution in this popular recreational destination. Clean Water has a special personal meaning for me.As a boy(I suppose one may say I was a tadpole then)circa 1968 through 1974,my father worked for The City of North Miami Beach Water Department.) still recall many fond memories visited all of Miami's Water Departments.About 10 to 12 years ago,l did extensive research and contacted our dear friend Congressman Howard Coble pertaining to networks of needed Coastal Desalination Plants back then. Our dear friend Mr.Coble will be retiring soon and is in the twilight years of his golden age and I wish him the very best.Under (Section 402)of The Clean Water Act,North Carolina needs NPDES Individual Permits and General Permits. The EPA in Washington,DC should be contacting DENR.Jordan.Rules bridget.munger at ncdenr.gov and Don.Liles at ncdenr.gov.Please visit the water .epa.gov /type /rsl /streams.cfm and water. epa.gov /grants_ funding /home.cfm sites for information on Clean Water State Revolving Funds and Drinking Water State Revolving Funds information.lt is important to have (40 CFR.233.13)Memorandum of Agreement with Regional Administrator in place to clean up Jordan Lake. Thank you. Sincerely, Clark Oehler 130 Albertson Road Thomasville, NC 27360
