Box 306 Denton, NC 27329 SUBJECT: 2021 Residuals Annual Report Review Town of Denton, Residuals Land Application Program Permit No. WQ0016966 Davidson County Dear Mr. Craver: Division of Water Resources staff Caitlin Caudle completed a review of the 2021 Residuals Annual Report. This review mostly reflected compliance with the subject permit. The following item of concern was noted: A. Calcium and pH were not included on the Residual Sampling Summary Form. These parameters were provided after Ms. Caudle contacted Troy Branch, ORC, to request this additional information. Moving forward please refer to Permit Condition IV.3 for all parameters that must be included on the Residual Sampling Summary Form. Land application notifications can be directed to Ms. Caudle at caitlin.caudle©ncdenr.gov or 336-776-9699. A routine compliance inspection will be scheduled this calendar year. Additional information was requested on April 26, 2022, and provided on April 27, 2022, and May 2, 2022. Other observations: • All applied materials were from the WWTP. The WTP is a source for WQ0038071 US Biosolids Class A Permit. • Sampling was completed on 8/25. • Lime stabilization was used to meet pathogen and vector reduction requirements. • Lime was applied to both fields applied on. • Potassium was reported incorrectly on the Residual Summary Form, the correct value is 6,750 mg/kg. • Selenium was reported wrong on the RSF, the correct value is 1.87 mg/kg. • Calcium was not reported on the lab analysis included in the annual report. An amended lab analysis was provided with calcium included. • SAR was not included on the SFS but was calculated to be 2.25 by staff. • pH was not included on RSF. Troy Branch, ORC, stated that the pH is measured after lime stabilization.
