Subject: [EXTERNAL] No "SolarBees" on Jordan Lake
Dear U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District Mr. Justin Bashaw,
Please oppose the use of SolarBees on Jordan Lake. A million people visit the lake each year to camp, swim, boat, paddle
or fish and these floating mixers pose a real threat. The mixers sit low in the water and could be easily missed by
boaters, water skiers and jet skiers until it is too late to avoid serious injury by hitting them. There is also no evidence
that these mixers will work to clean up the pollution in this popular recreational destination.
Using these mixers is akin to putting a pinkie Bandaid on an amputated leg stump.
