Hello Doug We do not know how much rip rap is there now. If you look at the one picture the neighbor has a retaining wall at the shoreline that this homeowner wants to do as well. The only rip rap we will be installing is to refresh existing as needed. 1 Thank you Cheri New Testament Landscaping On Thursday, April 28, 2022, 08:42:25 AM EDT, Perez, Douglas J <douq.perez@ncdenr.gov> wrote: Yes, in fact. Based upon the pictures, it seems that the slope is gentle. 10' of rip rap ABOVE full pond, seems quite excessive. We typically can only approve 2' above full pond. If this is a refresh of the existing rip rap, how much is currently there? (DWR #22-0474) Hello Douglas Please see attached signed Catawba Riparian form signed and to answer the question about installing the rip/rap. On the design it shows 0 feet below full pond. The rip rap is only being installed above the 760 line. Please let us know if you need anything else Thank you Cheri New Testament Landscaping On Tuesday, April 12, 2022, 10:05:32 AM EDT, Perez, Douglas J <douq.perez@ncdenr.gov> wrote: Hey Mark, In reviewing the shoreline stabilization application, I had a few comments/questions. First, if you could fill out and return to me the attached Catawba Riparian Buffer form, that would be most appreciated. I've attached it in two formats. Please fill out whichever one works best for you. Second, I need to know how long the shoreline in question is and how far above and below full pond you are planning on installing the new rip rap. On your design you're showing 10' of rip rap below full pond which seems a bit excessive. If you could get back to me, that would be greatly appreciated. 3 Thanks, Doug DWR DMxlsia1 of Wider Resouces Doug Perez — Environmental Specialist NC Dept. of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) Division of Water Resources - Water Quality Regional Operations 610 East Center Ave., Suite 301, Mooresville, NC 28115 Phone: (704) 235-2162 Fax: (704) 663-6040 E-mail correspondence to and from this address may be subject to the North Carolina Public Records Law and may be disclosed to third parties unless the content is exempt by statute or other regulation. 4
