Permit is for the continued discharge of 10.4 MGD into Richardson Creek located within the Yadkin -Pee Dee River Basin and classified as C waters. Speculative effluent limits have been provided by the NPDES Municipal Permitting Unit to Hazen & Sawyer, letter dated December 17, 2021, for the proposed flow of 15.4 MGD. The treatment facility is a 10.4 MGD extended air WWTP consisting of: - 2 Influent pump stations with 6 influent pumps - 2 Mechanical rotary screens - 10 MGD Flow EQ basin with proposed 15 MGD EQ basin to be constructed - 5 Activated sludge fine bubble aeration basins - 4 Secondary clarifiers - 6 Sand filters - Sludge drying beds (not in use) being used for sludge storage pads - Filter press - 2 Aerated sludge thickner tanks - 3 Aerated sludge holding tanks An application for Authorization to Construct (A to C) a 15 MGD equalization basin was sent to the NPDES Permit Unit by Hazen and Sawyer (Project #32138-013) and received on June 14, 2021. A to C was issued 9/23/2021 under A to C #02433A04. A 12-month compliance history review from January 2021 through December 2021 found violations of Weekly and Monthly BOD; Weekly violation for TSS; and Monthly violation for Flow during the month of February 2021. Records show that during month of Febuary 2021 facility reported 6.6 inches of rain.
