Easley Governor William G. Ross, Jr., Secretary North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources Alan W. Klimek, P.E., Director Division of Water Quality July 10, 2002 Subject: Modification of NPDES Permit NC0068365 Pilot Mountain WTP Surry County The subject permit was issued on October 1,1999. A review of the permit file by Division personnel noted a typographical error on the effluent page of your permit. The limits for Settleable Solids were incorrectly expressed in mg/L. This modification corrects the error, showing the limits expressed in ml/L. Please find enclosed the revised effluent page, which should be inserted into your permit. The old page may then be discarded. All other terms and conditions contained in the original permit remain unchanged and in full effect. This permit modification is issued under the requirements of North Carolina General Statutes 143-215.1 and the Memorandum of Agreement between North Carolina and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. If any parts, measurement frequencies or sampling requirements contained in this permit modification are unacceptable to you, you have the right to an adjudicatory hearing upon written request within thirty (30) days following receipt of this letter. This request must be a written petition conforming to Chapter 150B of the North Carolina General Statutes, filed with the Office of Administrative Hearings (6714 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, North Carolina 27699-6714). Unless such demand is made, this decision shall be final and binding. If you have any questions concerning this permit modification, please contact Charles Weaver of the NPDES Unit at (919) 733-5083, extension 511. Sincerely, 1an.o W. I'm trying to clear up this list. Two permits NC0068365 and NC0084212 have mg/1 as the unit -of -measure for parameter 00545. The only allowable uom for 00545 is ml/1. I looked at these two permits and they were written with a uom of mg/l. Is mg/1 correct and therefore we need to have EPA add mg/1 as an allowable uom for settleable solids, 00545, or does there need to be a permit correction to ml/1? Jeanne 1 of 1 3/25/2002 10:17 AA:
