1. OBTAIN GRADING/EROSION CONTROL PLAN APPROVAL FROM THE CITY OF CHARLOTTE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT.
2. SET UP AN ON -SITE PRE -CONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE WITH EROSION CONTROL INSPECTOR OF THE CITY ENGINEERING
DEPARTMENT TO DISCUSS EROSION CONTROL MEASURES. FAILURE TO SCHEDULE SUCH CONFERENCE 48 HOURS PRIOR TO ANY
LAND DISTURBING ACTIVITY IS A VIOLATION OF CHAPTER 17 OF THE CITY CODE AND IS SUBJECTTO FINE.
3. INSTALL SUPER SILT FENCE AND INLET PROTECTION AS SHOWN. BLOCK OFF SITE ACCESS POINTS TO VEHICULAR TRAFFIC.
4. COORDINATE WITH THE CITY INSPECTOR TO ENSURE SUPER SILT FENCE AND INLET PROTECTION INSTALLATION IS SATISFACTORY
PRIOR TO BEGINNING DEMOLITION.
5. COORDINATE WITH CITY INSPECTOR UPON COMPLETION OF PHASE 1 DEMOLITION.
6. INSTALL ALL PERIMETER EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES.

GRADING NOTES
1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTE THATTHE PLANS ARE SCHEMATIC IN NATURE AND DO NOT SHOW EVERY OFFSET, TRANSITION, GRADE CHANGE, ETC. THAT MAY BE
REQUIRED FOR A COMPLETE AND WORKING SYSTEM.
2. CONTRACTOR SHALL VERIFY LOCATION OF ALL EXISTING UTILITIES BEFORE BEGINNING CONSTRUCTION.
3. CONTRACTOR SHALL BLEND NEW EARTHWORK SMOOTHLY TO TRANSITION BACK TO EXISTING GRADE.
4. ALL FILL TO BE COMPACTED TO 95% DRY DENSITY (STANDARD PROCTOR) UNDER PAVEMENT AND BUILDING PAD.
5. THE PROPOSED CONTOURS SHOWN ARE FINISHED ELEVATIONS. REFER TO PAVEMENT AND SIDEWALK DETAILS TO ESTABLISH CORRECT SUBBASE OR AGGREGATE BASE
COURSE ELEVATIONS TO BE COMPLETED UNDER THIS CONTRACT.
6. CONTRACTOR SHALL ENSURE POSITIVE DRAINAGE SO THAT RUNOFF WILL FLOW BY GRAVITY AWAY FROM BUILDING(S) AND ACROSS NEW PAVEMENT AND/OR
LANDSCAPE AREAS TO NEW OR EXISTING STORM DRAIN INLETS, SWALES, DITCHES OR OVERLAND SHEET FLOW.
7. GRADE BUILDING PAD TO A LEVEL BELOW FINISHED FLOOR EQUALTO THE FLOOR SLAB THICKNESS TO AN ACCURACY OF 1/10th OF A FOOT.
8. IN ORDER TO ENSURE PROPER DRAINAGE, KEEP A MINIMUM OF 0.50% SLOPE ON THE CURB.
9. COORDINATE ALL CURB AND STREET GRADES IN INTERSECTION WITH INSPECTOR.
10. APPROVAL OF THIS PLAN IS NOT AN AUTHORIZATION TO GRADE ADJACENT PROPERTIES. WHEN FIELD CONDITIONS WARRANT OFF -SITE GRADING, PERMISSION MUST
BE OBTAINED FROM THE AFFECTED PROPERTY OWNERS.
11. EROSION PROTECTION DURING CONSTRUCTION MUST BE MAINTAINED UNTIL LANDSCAPING IS COMPLETE.
