After a site visit conducted on February 25, 2022 at the requested location, here is the jurisdictional
determination:

 Culvert Repair – NC Highway 32, Mintonsville, Gates County (36.3468° / -76.6362°): CAMA non-
jurisdictional at the culvert crossing or 75’ within the ditch at the crossing. (No CAMA Permit
Required).

Please consult with any other local, state or federal agencies that may require a permit or authorization before
project initiation. Thanks and please contact me for further discussion or if I can provide anymore assistance.

Subject: CAMA/Public Trust JD for Trotman Creek at NC 32 Gates County

Greg:

NCDOT Bridge Maintenance staff discovered some culvert pipe scour at the toe wall of an existing double barrel
concrete box culvert located at the NC 32 crossing of Trotman Creek in Gates County as shown on the attached topo
map. NCDOT will be repairing this scour by filling the scour hole with class B riprap to prevent undermining of the toe
wall.

Is this location in the Public Trust Area AEC and if so will this repair require a CAMA permit?
