Dear Permittee:

The Linville Falls Mountain Club and Preserve wastewater treatment plant is granted permission to perform
constant time/constant volume composite sampling as defined in 15A NCAC 02B .0503 (4)(d) for permit reporting
requirements in lieu of flow-proportional sampling as requested. This permission is allowable because this facility
has a design flow less than or equal to 30,000 gallons/day and under that condition according to 15A NCAC 02B
.0505 (c)(3)(B): The Director may specify the methods of sample collection as to type of sample and type of
composite sampling required.

This approval is contingent upon your composite sampling consisting of aliquots of at least 100ml collected with
intervals not to exceed 20 minutes between aliquots. The Division reserves the right to change the method of
composite sampling again if we find reason to believe that this time composite method is not producing
representative samples.
