Athan,
Thanks for talking with me earlier about Peyton's Ridge S/D specifically Peyton Lake As discussed i will strike through
the narrative section of your application and correct the impact numbers for Peyton Lake (I would recommend you ao
the same on your end) It looks like a fairly straight forward action but I did have two comments /questions First, please
confirm that a rip rap pad is necessary for a pipe to be placed in the wetland drain As I mentioned we are seeing more
of these eliminated in DOT plans due to the flat nature of Onslow County Now in this case I have not been to the site so
it may very well sit in the more topographic region of Onslow, dust looking for confirmation If the pad is not necessary
this could result in additional avoidance and minimization
Lastly, this is the fifth phase of this project and collectively the project has exceeded mitigation thresholds Therefore,
please provide some mitigation for the proposed impacts It appears you are out of the service areas of local banks and
you will again need to go back to NCEEP
I will need a response to the first question and an acceptance letter from NCEEP to complete processing If the
information is not provided within thirty days the Corps will retire this action and any future requests will be viewed as
new
Thanks,
Brad
