MOTOR VEHICLE FLUIDS AND TRANSFORMER OIL
This response procedure assumes that MOST used motor vehicle fluids and transformer oils do not fall within the category
that is typically classified as 'hazardous' waste. Please note that the EMPLOYEE'S HEALTH AND SAFETY is the NUMBER
ONE PRIORITY; one MAY CALL FOR ASSISTANCE by contacting a Supervisor, the Emergency Management Coordinator at
ANY TIME OR 911 for EMERGENCY and request the Fire Department's HAZ-MAT Team if one is uncomfortable or unsure
of the proper procedure. All procedures should be performed in a manner that prevents coming into direct contact with
material. ANY amount of oil spilled must be cleaned up by someone or some company. ANY amount of oil that is spilled
within 100 ft of a stream, and any spill greater than 25 gallons, must be reported to the State's Department of Environment
and Natural Resources; the Emergency Management Coordinator will do this, however, a Supervisor should be notified if
this is the case. In all cases, the Supervisor will report spill incidents to the City of Concord's Safety and Risk Manager.
Motor vehicle fluids include - Hydraulic Oil, Motor Oil, Transmission Fluid, Antifreeze, Power Steering Fluid, Brake Fluid,
Washer Fluid
Transformer oil includes - oil that is contained within electric transformers, either ground- or pole -mounted
