Liz/Hannah,
The U-2519CA experienced a rainfall of approximately 1.75” on Saturday January 15, 2022 resulting in a total loss of 13 cu yds of sediment at 2 permit sites. Below is email sent from Jonathan Osipovitch with the details and photos. We will be following up with contractor this week and update you on status.

Greg,
On Saturday, the project received approximately 1.75" of rainfall, resulting in approximately 13.0 Cu.Yd of loss spread across two wetland areas. The following is a breakdown of the locations impacted and the material lost at each area.
1. Wetland Site #2 (-L- RT Sta. 611+00)(Approximately 2.0 Cu.Yd)
The SDO adjacent to the base of Bent #7 RT was undermined by sheet flow from a nearby slope drain, causing approximately 2.0 Cu.Yd of sediment to bypass the SDO and enter Wetland Site #2. The loss is spread out, but relatively thin across the majority of the impacted area.
2. Wetland Site #10 (-Y1- RT Sta. 17+00)(Approximately 11.0 Cu.Yd of Sediment)
Approximately 11.0 Cu.Yd of sediment has entered Wetland Site #10 after both the SDO and Retention Basin at the Barker Borrow Pit failed (see additional pictures). Existing erosion control measures along the ditch were compromised due to the additional influx of runoff.
SDO at the top of the Spillway that was overwhelmed and failed, Silt fence adjacent to the SDO was also undermined.
The point of release was from the rear of the retention basin in the borrow pit. Modifications to the basin were inadequate to retain the volume of water in the basin, causing the rear corner of the basin to fail and release stored runoff out of the basin in an uncontrolled manner.
The contractor has been informed of these losses, and provided a list of erosion control issues that need to be addressed. If you need any additional pictures or information, please let me know.
Best Regards,
Jonathan Osipovitch, EI
