Dear Mr. Marshall,
This office has completed the final inspection on the above referenced project. We
found that the requirements of the grading permit have been satisfied and the permit is
now closed. No further inspections are required by this office, and the self -inspections
required under the NCGO10000 permit can cease.
If this site was permitted after April 1, 2019, a Notice of Intent should have been filed
with the NC Department of Environmental Quality. Please file a Notice of Termination
with that Department to close your NCGO10000 permit at this time. This can be done
online at deq.nc.gov/ncg01.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at 336-451-4032.
Sincerely,

SEDIMENT AND EROSION CONTROL
INSPECTION REPORT (CONT)
TO RECIPIENTS OF THIS INSPECTION REPORT
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY AND RESPOND AS NECESSARY.
• If corrective actions are listed on the front, a follow-up inspection will be made to see if the
corrections have been made and to determine if the are successful. Failure to meet the deadline
may result in a Notice of Violation, Stop Work Order, Revocation of the Grading Permit, or other
enforcement action against the site. It is the owner/developer's (the person(s) financially
responsible for the disturbance) responsibility to have the necessary corrections made and to make
arrangements with their engineer, contractor, etc. to have them completed by the deadline.
If the owner/developer, contractor, engineer, or other agents have questions about this inspection
report or any corrections listed on the front of this report, contact the Sediment and Erosion Control
Section. Do not wait until the deadline to start asking questions.
• The person responsible for the land -disturbing activity is reminded that the Erosion Control
Ordinance is performance oriented; if it is determined that off -site sedimentation is occurring
despite proper implementation and maintenance of the approved erosion control plan, it is the
owner/developer's responsibility to provide additional sediment trapping and/or erosion control
measures
The owner/developer is responsible for taking the initiative in inspecting the site to see that the
approved erosion control plan is being implemented, that the devices are successful, and that the
devices are properly maintained and repaired. Do not wait for erosion control personnel to discover
and point out the problems; their function is not to serve as your construction inspector but to spot
check the site for compliance with the approved plan. When inspectors discover problems and there
has been no initiative on the owner/developer's part to make corrections, you will be expected to
make corrections immediately, usually within one or two days.
