Rose Hill Division Duplin County Dear Mr. White On December 1, 2021, Brian Lambe from the Wilmington Regional Office of the Division of Energy, Mineral, and Land Resources (DEMLR), conducted a compliance evaluation inspection for Valley Proteins, Inc Rose Hill Division located on Yellow Cut Road, Duplin County, North Carolina. The following observations were noted during the DEMLR inspection (please see the attached addendum for additional information about your permit): 1) Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SPPP) A Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SPPP) has been developed, recorded, and properly implemented. Yes ■ No ❑ 2) Qualitative Monitoring Qualitative monitoring has been conducted and recorded in accordance with permit requirements. Yes ■ No ❑ 3) Analytical Monitoring Analytical monitoring has not been conducted and recorded in accordance with permit requirements. The tier response must be carried over from the previous permit period, it does not restart. You must reinstitute Tier III status for outfalls 3 and 4 for COD and TSS. If you had three samples exceed the benchmark, that resets, but once Vou achieve the specified tier, it must be complied with until conditions merit relief. Therefor, you must re-evaluate your tier status. Submit documentation of the tier status and renewed response.
