I have reviewed the information submitted for the project referenced by the Raleigh Regional
Office as NBR 03 -029. An evaluation of the stream features present on the property was
performed on December 19, 2002 to determine whether or not the site would require compliance
with the Neuse Buffer Rules.
The features represented on the Wake County Soils and the Raleigh East USGS topographic
maps were evaluated to determine their subjectivity to the Rule. It was determined that there are
two streams present on this property. Only one is represented on either of the maps, and
therefore, that feature is subject to the Neuse River Basin: Nutrient Sensitive Waters
Management Strategy; Protection and Maintenance of Existing Riparian Areas, Administrative
Code 15A:20B.0233. Although the other feature is a stream, it is not depicted on the maps and
therefore not subject to the fifty -foot riparian protection zone.
This letter addresses only those issues involving the riparian area. For information relative to
