TELEVISION, OR ANY OTHER UNDERGROUND OR OVERHEAD UTILITY BEFORE STARTING CONSTRUCTION. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE
CONTRACTOR TO FIELD VERIFY THE LOCATION AND DEPTH OF ALL UTILITIES WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THIS PROJECT.
13. THE CONTRACTOR AND ALL SUBS ON SITE SHALL MAINTAIN THE SITE IN A MANNER TO PREVENT ANY TRASH OR SEDIMENT FROM LEAVING THE
SITE. ALL VEHICLE TIRES SHALL BE CLEANED WASHED TO PREVENT CARRYING SEDIMENT OFF SITE.

14. THE CONTRACTOR MUST INSTALL ALL UTILITIES (STORM WATER, SEWER, ETC.) PER ALL MATERIAL MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATIONS. ANY ITEM
NOT INSTALLED PER MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATIONS SHALL BE THE LIABILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR.
15. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ENSURE ADEQUATE DRAINAGE IN YARD/LANDSCAPED AREAS BY FEATHERING GRADING WHERE NEEDED WHILE STAYING
WITHIN THE LIMITS OF DISTURBANCE. SHOULD THE LIMITS NEED TO BE EXCEEDED, CONTACT THE ENGINEER AND HOME -BUILDER IMMEDIATELY.
16. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PERFORMING AND FOLLOWING UP WITH THE LOCAL MUNICIPALITY REGARDING ANY INSPECTIONS
DURING OR NEAR COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT.
17. THE OWNER, HOME -BUILDER, OR GRADING CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT THE ENGINEER OF RECORD OF ANY UNCERTAINTIES OR QUESTIONS THEY
MAY HAVE BEFORE PROCEEDING. FAILURE TO DISCUSS ANY UNCERTAINTIES OR QUESTIONS WITH THE ENGINEER OF RECORD WILL REMOVE LIABILITY
FROM WK ENVIRONMENTAL OF ANY DAMAGES CAUSED BY THIS FAILURE.
18. CONTRACTOR HAS THE RIGHT TO MAKE MINOR ADJUSTMENTS TO EROSION CONTROL FEATURES BASED UPON TOPOGRAHPY DISCREPANCIES.
19. CONTRACTOR SHALL FINISH GRADE IN A MANNER TO ENSURE ADEQUATE DRAINAGE AND TO PREVENT DRAINAGE FROM ENTERING THE
BUILDING/HOUSE. USE OF TRENCH/SLOTTED DRAINS ACROSS DRIVE ISLES IS PERMISSIBLE IF NECESSARY AND ACCEPTED BY HOMEOWNER.
DEMOLITION NOTES
1. CONDUCT DEMOLITION OPERATIONS TO PREVENT INJURY TO PEOPLE AND DAMAGE TO ADJACENT BUILDINGS, FACILITIES OR STRUCTURES TO REMAIN.
ENSURE SAFE PASSAGE OF PEOPLE AROUND DEMOLITION AREA. PROTECT EXISTING SITE IMPROVEMENTS, APPURTENANCES AND LANDSCAPING TO
REMAIN.
2. INSTALL TREE FENCING AROUND ALL MATURE TREES TO REMAIN OR ALONG RIPARIAN BUFFERS (IF NOT HEAVILY FLAGGED). FENCING SHALL BE

EROSION CONTROL/GRADING NOTES

4 RE-GRADE/REPAIR GRADDE STABILIZE /REPAIR BERMS TEMPORARY
AS REQUIRED. EION BERMS IMMEDIATELY AFTER CONSTRUCTION INCLUDING "CLEAN" WATER DIVERSION BERMS.
5. CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING SEDIMENT ON SITE TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT. IF NECESSEARY, WASH ALL UNDERCARRIAGES AND TIRES
BEFORE LEAVING THE SITE.
6. CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBLE FOR MINOR FINE GRADING ALTERATIONS TO ENSURE ADEQUATE DRAINAGE AWAY FROM THE HOUSE PAD.
7. MATTING MUST BE INSTALLED IMMEDIATELY AFTER ALL DITCH LINES AND DIVERSION BERMS ARE INSTALLED TO PROTECT THE DRAINAGE SWALE.

CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE
1. SUBMIT A LAND DISTURBING PERMIT APPLICATION AT LEAST 30 DAYS PRIOR TO ANY LAND DISTURBING ACTIVITY OCCURRING.
2. ORGANIZE ONSITE PRE -CONSTRUCTION MEETING WITH DREW BLAKE (919-548-6715) TO REVIEW SITE PLAN PRIOR TO LAND DISTURBING ACTIVITIES.
LAND DISTURBING PERMIT AND APPROVED PLANS WILL BE PROVIDED AT THIS MEETING.
3. BEGIN INITIAL DRIVEWAY CUT, CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE, CONCRETE WASHOUT, SILT FENCE, AND SILT FENCE OUTLETS.
4. CONTACT CHATHAM COUNTY WATERSHED PROTECTION DEPARTMENT STAFF TO SCHEDULE AN INSPECTION OF ALL INSTALLED MEASURES.
5. PERMITTED LAND DISTURBING ACTIVITIES MAY BEGIN UPON APPROVAL OF THE INSTALLED MEASURES.
4. ONCE INITIAL ENTRANCE IS IN AND APPROVED, BEGIN CLEARING THE REMAINING PORTIONS OF THE SITE AND INSTALLING BOUNDARY EROSION
CONTROL MEASURES TOWARDS THE CREEK CROSSING.
5. INSTALL CULVERTS PER STREAM CROSSING DETAILS IN THESE PLANS AND ONCE INSTALLED, CONTACT CHATHAM COUNTY STAFF FOR INSPECTION.
ONCE APPROVED, CONTINUE WITH SEDIMENT AND EROSION CONTROL MEASURES FOR THE REST OF THE SITE. EXERCISE CAUTION IN SEPTIC FIELD
AREA TO NOT DESTROY THE FIELD.
6. COMPLETE SELF -INSPECTIONS WEEKLY AND WITHIN 24 HOURS OR A 0.5" OR GREATER RAINFALL EVENT. EMAIL ALL INSPECTION REPORTS TO
CHATHAM COUNTY WATERSHED PROTECTION DEPARTMENT STAFF WITHIN 24 HOURS OF INSPECTION. NOTIFY STAFF IMMEDIATELY OF ANY VIOLATIONS
ON SITE.
7. MAINTAIN ALL EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES IN GOOD WORKING ORDER. SILT FENCE, STONE OUTLETS AND OTHER SIMILAR MEASURES
MUST BE CLEANED OUT BEFORE THEY ARE HALF FULL. CLOGGED SILT FENCE OUTLETS MUST BE REFRESHED/REPLACED. SILT FENCE CANNOT HAVE
HOLES OR TEARS AND MUST BE APPROPRIATELY KEYED IN.
8. GROUND COVER SHALL BE PROVIDED AS FOLLOWS:
a. STABILIZE DIVERSION DITCHES/BERMS INTENDED TO BE IN SERVICE FOR 30 DAYS OR MORE WITH TEMPORARY SEEDING AND EROSION CONTROL
MATTING. (IF APPLICABLE)
b. FOR ALL AREAS OF MODERATE AND/OR STEEP SLOPES, STABILIZE AREA WITH SEED AND MATTING IF THE SLOPE HAS NOT BEEN DISTURBED FOR
A PERIOD OF SEVEN (7) DAYS.
c. PROVIDE GROUND COVER SUFFICIENT TO RESTRAIN EROSION ON ANY PORTION OF THE SITE UPON WHICH FURTHER LAND -DISTURBING ACTIVITY IS
NOT BEING UNDERTAKEN WITHIN FIFTEEN (15) CALENDAR DAYS OF TEMPORARILY OR PERMANENTLY SUSPENDING LAND DISTURBING ACTIVITY.
d. CONSIDER ADDING ADDDITIONAL SILT FENCE AROUND ANY SOILS STOCKPILE AREAS TO PREVENT CONCENTRATED EROSION FROM OCCURRING.
e. ESTABLISH PERMANENT GROUND COVER SUFFICIENT TO RESTRAIN EROSION IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION OR
DEVELOPMENT AND/OR PRIOR TO FINAL INSPECTION.
9. RE -INSTALL ADEQUATE EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES AND/OR INCREASE MAINTENANCE FREQUENCY WHERE APPROVED MEASURES
FAIL TO PREVENT ACCELERATED EROSION, OFF -SITE SEDIMENTATION, OR REPETITIVE NON-COMPLIANCE ISSUES.
10. ALL MEASURES MUST BE INSTALLED ACCORDING TO THE APPROVED PLAN UNLESS APPROVED IN THE FIELD BY CHATHAM COUNTY WATERSHED
PROTECTION DEPARTMENT STAFF APPROVED FIELD REVISION ALL APPROVED FIELD REVISIONS MUST BE REPORTED TO THE ENGINEER OF RECORD

WITHIN 24 HOURS OF APPROVAL.
11. MODIFICATIONS TO THE APPROVED AND PERMITTED PLANS SHALL BE APPROVED, BY CHATHAM COUNTY WATERSHED PROTECTION DEPARTMENT STAFF
ONLY, PRIOR TO REMOVAL OR INSTALLATION. CONTACT CHATHAM COUNTY WATERSHED PROTECTION DEPARTMENT STAFF TO REQUEST AN INSPECTION
AND OBTAIN A SIGN -OFF ON THE PLANS OR AN APPROVED FIELD REVISION.
12. ONCE GRADING AND CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES ARE COMPLETE, AND THE SITE IS STABILIZED CALL CHATHAM COUNTY WATERSHED PROTECTION
DEPARTMENT STAFF TO SCHEDULE THE FINAL INSPECTION SO THAT EROSION CONTROL MEASURES MAY BE REMOVED. EROSION CONTROL MEASURES
ARE NOT TO BE REMOVED UNTIL THAT INSPECTION IS COMPLETE AND APPROVED BY CHATHAM COUNTY STAFF.
12.1. THE OWNER MAINTAINS THE RIGHT TO EITHER SEED OR SOD THEIR PROPERTY AT THE END OF THE PROJECT. SEEDING AND SODDING
NOTES/DETAILS HAVE BEEN PROVIDED IN THESE PLANS FOR INSTRUCTION.
13. ONCE THE FINAL INSPECTION IS COMPLETE THE PERMIT WILL BE CLOSED, REMOVE ALL SEDIMENT AND EROSION CONTROL PRACTICES IF SITE IS
STABLE AND NO ADDITIONAL GROUND DISTURBING ACTIVITIES CAN OCCUR.
14. DIVERSION DITCHES ARE TO BE INSTALLED AT THE END OF EACH WORKING DAY AT STREAM CROSSING TO ENSURE PROTECTION OF SURFACE WATERS.
