The system consists of approximately 11.4 miles of force main ranging in size from 4 to 14 inch, 20 miles of gravity ranging in size from 6 to 18 inch and 8 pumping stations. Wastewater is collected from 1606 current customers who are 100% residential/commercial. The flow is sent to PWC of Fayetteville and the City of Raeford. We continue to contract with PWC for O&M of the collection system that delivers flow to their plant, but have cancelled our contract with the City of Raeford and perform the O&M of that system ourselves. Last year we received our final approval required in order to move forward with bidding the 1.5 MGD Waste Water Treatment Plant. We met with the LGC and were approved for construction to begin with a Notice to Proceed date of March 31, 2014 and scheduled date of completion to be October 31, 2015. Wharton Smith is constructing the plant and McArthur construction is laying the sewer outfall lines. The Phase lA project was completed in May of 2013. This project provided a pump station, force main and gravity outfall to serve Cape Fear and First Health hospitals.
