On April 22, 2008, the Wilmington Regional Office received a plan revision for Stormwater
Management Permit Number SW8 970128. The revisions include modification to a service lot
behind Wagoner Hall where a new School of Nursing Regional Energy Plant will be
constructed. This service lot is included as existing impervious area in State Stormwater
Permit No. SW8 970128 Modification issued March 7, 2005. This plan revision will reduce the
current impervious area by 606 sf, for a revised total of 398,201 sf current impervious area.
The new pervious area of 606 sf will be classified as future impervious area. Please reference
the "washed stone" on new Plan Sheets C1 and CD. It has been determined that a formal
permit modification is not required for the proposed changes. We are forwarding you an
approved copy of the revised plans for your files. Please add the attached plans to the.
previously approved plan sheets.
Please be aware that all terms and conditions of the permit issued on March 7, 2005 remain in
full force and effect. Please also understand that the approval of this revision to the approved
plans for the subject State Stormwater Permit is done on a case -by -case basis. Any other
changes to this project must be submitted to and approved through the Division of Water
Quality prior to construction. The issuance of this plan revision does not preclude the
permittee from complying with all other applicable statutes, rules, regulations or ordinances
which may have jurisdiction over the proposed activity, and obtaining a permit or approval prior
to construction.

Thanks for the clarification. I will go ahead and process this as a plan revision. However, could you
please submit details for the proposed pervious area. I cannot tell from the drawing submitted
previously. Please outline the pervious areas and provide a clear description (i.e.-grassed area, rain
garden, or other). If the area is pervious pavement, please describe pavement type and subgrade.

next best thing. I used the UNCW master plan. There have been some slight
changes due to growth in the southwest corner, so I had to make some
adjustments. Attached is a PDF of the master plan and the green line is my
drainage area outline. From the master plan DWG file, this area denoted is
26.973 acres.

Please find enclosed two (2) sets of plans for the UNCW School of Nursing Regional
Energy Plant. This plant will be constructed on a portion of the service lot behind
Wagoner Dining Hall on the University of North Carolina Wilmington main campus. This
service lot is included as existing impervious area in State Stormwater Permit No. SW8
970128 Modification issued on March 7. 2005. Our c 1en wis es o reduce the
impervious area on the service lot by 606 SF, which would reduce the total impervious
to 398,208 SF; and our client wishes to retain the surplus 606 SF impervious area for
future expansion.
