SUBJECT: Action ID 199603204; Final Review of the March 2007 Greater Sandy Run Area
Mitigation Bank Monitoring Summary 2006 Growing Season.
1. This letter serves to confirm our evaluation of the March 2007 monitoring report for Greater
Sandy Run Area Wetland Mitigation Bank. (GSRA) located on the west side of US Hwy 17,
adjacent to the Greater Sandy Run Pocosin, near Dixon, Onslow County, North Carolina.
2. Our review of the monitoring report, along with input from some of the Mitigation Bank
Review Team (MBRT) members, concurs with your determination that the GSRA has
conclusively and successfully met the hydrological criteria for the 2006 growing season. With
this determination, our office has concluded that additional monitoring, both for hydrology and
vegetation, is no longer required for the bank, and that all remaining credits are available for use.
As always, future decisions concerning the acceptability of the use of this bank to offset the
wetlands impacts authorized by any particular permit will be made during the review of that
permit.
3. Please be reminded of your obligations pursuant to the 2 November 2000 Mitigation Banking
Instrument (MBn; and to continue maintenance inspections of the check and log dams and
culverts throughout the bank in order to evaluate the condition and stability of each structure in
