As development pressure increases, these small wetlands will not be protected. Wetlands are subject to a “death of 1000 cuts,” and their essential ecosystem services of flood control, nutrient and turbidity uptake, and critical habitat will be lost if they are not protected.     I am personally aware of several wetlands where development is rapidly taking place in Alamance, Guilford, and surrounding counties. They are sitting targets if the rules you are considering are not implemented and enforced. Please.    Thank you  ‐‐   Carole W. Troxler  Elon, NC
