Roberto, I want to give you a situation update on the 50' clarifier at WSWWTP. 11/18/21 Electricians under the
supervision of Haren Construction connected a new MCC to the lower portion of the plant. The electrician
wired the clarifier wrong and ran it backwards. This caused the rake to become bound and damaged. The 50'
clarifier had to be drained for repairs to be performed. The 1st attempt at repairs 11/18/21 and 11/19/21 proved
to be unsuccessful. The clarifier was drained into the digester, rake was cleared of the obstruction and wiring
was fixed. The rake made a single rotation and got stuck again. 11/20/21 The clarifier was drained once more
and the rake was inspected and was found to have broken welds from the rotation reversal. Repairs were made
and clarifier put back online. Solids were pumped to the digester and back to head of the plant via bypass
pumping. This process resulted in poor treatment in the wwtp and is still recovering from the upset. Lab results
will indicate the wwtp performance in regards to this incident.
Feel free to give me a call if you have any further questions in this matter.
