This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in NPDES WW Permit No. NC0007552. The findings and comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report entitled "Compliance Inspection Report". Two Notice of Deficiencies were issued over the review period. Grab samples are taken as required in the NPDES permit. The facility currently only samples the cation exchange softeners. Effluent samples need to be representative of the actual discharge and include the pressure vessels (PurolitePlus/9218) and the cation exchange softeners. The facility is currently reporting flow from one backwash on the DMR. Total daily discharge needs to be reported on the DMR. During the recent upgrade Mag Meters were installed to measure effluent flow. Effluent flow meters are required to be calibrated annually with a maximum deviation of 10%. The NPDES permit has a Chloride limit of 230 mg/I that will become effective on August 1, 2022. A review of the DMR's showed that the facility currently cannot meet the Chloride limit of 230 mg/I. The effluent discharge will need to be meet permitted limits of 230 mg/I by August 1, 2022.
