The pH meter is calibrated every day; however, the effluent pH is measured approximately six to seven hours following the calibration. The pH meter should be re -checked with the 7.0 SU standard prior to analysis. In addition, the ORC and staff must ensure that the calibration of the pH meter (4.0 SU, 7.0 SU and 10 SU standards) and the serial #s for the pH and total residual chlorine meters are documented in calibration log.
