Inspection Summary:
Inspection conducted 07/14/17 at Pronamic Industrial facility located at 1151 Page Rd near Washington, NC.
Water level in WP at/near PP level; water in pond bright green; vegetation inside perimeter of WP overgrown/not properly
maintained; vegetation on banks & outer slopes cut too close causing minor erosion & bare soils; inverted grade at bank
of emergency spillway appears to allow adjacent field to drain into WP. Drainage along back of plant site re-routed to
WP by grass swale. Grass swale not well defined; poorly maintained. Ouentin Mason, Plant Rep, stated that bright
green color in WP due to dye residue from exposed outside storage containers & recessed truck loading ramp washed
into pond during storm events.
Based on SIC code 3564 (air filters) facility should apply for and obtain coverage under Federal SW permit NCG03 -
Metal Fabrication. Monday, 07/17, follow-up with Tavern Dixon, [phone], company rep for AAF Flanders, local
company that owns facility. Facility being closed down/operation ceased immediately; company has hired
Environmental Consultant to assist with shut-down/clean up process.
Follow-up site visit with Flanders & Consultant TBA early August to discuss/resolve issues with WP & other permitting
requirements.
