Subject: City of Monroe NPDES NC0024333 Clean out and replacement of membranes in aeration basins
Good afternoon,
The City of Monroe WWTP will be having the aeration basins cleaned out and the membranes on the air
system replaced. The following is from Special Provisions included in the contracts:
Because the WWTP aeration basins are critical operating facilities for the WWTP, the WWTP can only have one
(1) aeration basin out of service at a time. The contractor shall complete all work required for each separate
aeration basin, after the clean out, the City with separate contract, will be replacing the existing membranes,
prior to work being started on the next aeration basin. The contractor shall submit a detailed work sequence,
and the owner shall determine the date for which the work on each aeration basin can proceed (weather
forecasts will be utilized to help determine).

there is not a lapse in time from the cleaning and replacing the membranes. Once each individual basin has
been completed, the next basin will be scheduled to be completed. The contractor shall submit a detailed
work sequence, and the owner shall determine the date for which the work on each aeration basin can
proceed (weather forecasts will be utilized to help determine).
We are planning to take 1 aeration basin off line Monday September 27, 2021 to start the project.
Thanks
