Stevens update Date: Mon, 18 Feb 2002 13:24:58 -0500 From: Don Register <don.register@ncmail.net> To: Belinda Henson <belinda.henson@ncmail.net> CC: Dale Lopez <dale.lopez@ncmail.net>, Kitty Kramer <Kitty.Kramer@ncmail.net>, Paul Rawls <Paul.Rawls@ncmail.net> I talked with Heman Benton today to get an update on the water plant expansion and bar screen replacement at the WWTP. The water plant solids thickener is in operation and working correctly. The new bar screen (same as the old except it was all stainless steel to withstand the high temp.) worked for 5 hrs. before disintegrating. It was not installed properly and there was not an automatic cut-off, if there was a problem with the operation. The manual screen is currently used until the new screen can be replaced. I don't know if you knew this but Kitty Kramer has retired as of last month. All questions related to compliance and DMR's should go to Belinda Henson as well as future reports of this nature. If possible I would like for you to put Belinda as the first contact on your e-mail reports but still continue to CC Grady Dobson, Don Register and myself. Per my conversation with Herman this morning it sounds like Moore Co. is having severe problems with ice, I hope everything near you home is OK. Thanks Again Paul Rawls Helton Yancy wrote: > Final effluent pH was 9.1 versus a limit of 9 or below, yesterday, December > 3, 2002. The reduced running schedule of the Gulistan operation has contributed to this problem. We are investigating short term measures to adjust pH until Gulistan resumes operations the end of this week. 1 of 1 12/31/2002 12:11 PM
