Tests from the previous day tested only 56 colonies/100 ml. Dontech Inc. is installing anew perforated screen onto the bar screen and modifying the scraper blades to improve the overall performance. We continue to monitor pH in the Equalization basin. An examination of processes within the treatment plant itself suggested water from the pressing operation be re-routed to the head of the plant instead of the aeration basin. This is being scheduled. We will continue testing and evaluation and keep you posted on our progress. 1 of 1 5/10/2002 3:56 PM [Fwd: Fecal Violation -- October 2002] Subject: [Fwd: Fecal Violation -- October 2002] Date: Mon, 14 Oct 2002 13:14:49 -0400 From: Grady Dobson <Grady.Dobson@ncmail.net> Organization: NC DENR Division of Water Quality To: Belinda Henson <Belinda.Henson@ncmail.net> Subject: Fecal Violation -- October 2002 Date: Fri, 11 Oct 2002 12:26:44 -0400 From: Helton Yancy <Helton.Yancy@wpstv.com> To: "Paul Rawls (E-mail)" <paul.rawls@ncmail.net>, "Kitty Kramer (E-mail)" <Kitty.Kramer@ncmail.net>, "Grady Dobson (E-mail)" <Grady.Dobson@ncmail.net> CC: Lanier Eddie <Lanier.Eddie@wpstv.com>, Adams Wesley <Adams.Wesley@wpstv.com>, Benton Herman <Benton.Herman@wpstv.com>, Hughes Steve <Hughes.Steve@wpstv.com> Received via fax notification from Microbac Laboratories yesterday, October 10, 2002 that the fecal coliform test performed on October 8, 2002 tested 2,000 colonies/100 ml. As you are aware, we have re-routed the water from the pressing operation to the head of the plant instead of the aeration basin and have not had a violation since May. We continue to monitor pH in the Equalization basin. We have had numerous problems with the bar screen and are currently evaluating several options. Will keep you posted on our progress. 1 of 1 10/15/2002 8:36.AM [Fwd: Fecal Violation - October 2002] Subject: [Fwd: Fecal Violation -- October 2002] Date: Thu, 07 Nov 2002 14:51:21 -0500 From: Grady Dobson <Grady.Dobson@ncmail.net> ;Organization: NC DENR Division of Water Quality To: Belinda Henson <Belinda.Henson@ncmail.net> Subject: RE: Fecal Violation -- October 2002 Date: Mon, 4 Nov 2002 15:06:29 -0500 From: Helton Yancy <Helton.Yancy@wpstv.com> To: "'Paul Rawls (E-mail)" <paul.rawls@ncmail.net>, "'Kitty Kramer (E-mail)" <Kitty.Kramer@ncmail.net>, "'Grady Dobson (E-mail)" <Grady.Dobson@ncmail.net> CC: Lanier Eddie <Lanier.Eddie@wpstv.com>, Adams Wesley <Adams.Wesley@wpstv.com>, Benton Herman <Benton.Herman@wpstv.com>, Hughes Steve <Hughes.Steve@wpstv.com> Received via fax today, November 4, notification from MEL that the fecal coliform sample collected on October 29, tested 560 colonies/100m1. This is in violation of our daily limit of 400 colonies/100m1. mdst results for the month were: 64, 2000, 2, 2, and 560 for a geometric mean of 49 versus a limit of 200 colonies/100m1. > Original Message > From: Helton Yancy Sent: Friday, October 11, 2002 12:27 PM > To: Paul Rawls (E-mail); Kitty Kramer (E-mail); Grady Dobson (E-mail) > Cc: Lanier Eddie; Adams Wesley; Benton Herman; Hughes Steve Subject: Fecal Violation -- October 2002 > Received via fax notification from Microbac Laboratories yesterday, > October 10, 2002 that the fecal coliform test performed on October 8, 2002 > tested 2,000 colonies/100 ml. • As you are aware, we"have re-routed the water from the pressing operation > to the head of the plant instead of the aeration basin and have not had a > violation since May.
