Subject: Technical Assistance Report
NPDES Number NC0005762
Scotland County
Dear Mr. Chavis,
This is to document that technical assistance has been given regarding the operation of the
downsized wastewater treatment facility. I met with you and backup operator Ronald Locklear on
May 24, 2007. The technical assistance was conducted to reevaluate the large wastewater facility
operations and to give recommendations regarding the plant modifications and the proper operation
of this low influent flow. (7 MGD reduced to less than 1 MGD) See the summary comments in the
report.
As always, you are to be commended for requesting assistance when needed, in order to protect
water quality by achieving and maintaining permit compliance.
If you have questions concerning this report or if this office can be of additional assistance, please
contact me at 910-433-3309.
Sincerely,
Don Register
