Subject: Wagram Wastewater Treatment Plant
This is to confirm our conversation yesterday concerning the equalization (EQ) basin in our wastewater treatment facility
at the Wagram Complex. It appears that the plastic liner in that basin may have developed a leak. We noticed what
appears to be a portion of the liner that is now visible above the surface of the water. We are taking steps to empty this
basin into the concrete -lined aeration basin. Since the Bob Stevens Finishing Plant shut down in 2009, we have
previously been routing all incoming wastewater through the EQ basin and through the aeration basin before releasing it
to the clarifier and the final discharge. Now that Gulistan Carpets has also shut down, our flow is very low — primarily the
occasional filter backwash from our water filter plant. We do not believe that this will affect our effluent quality. Once
the EQ basin is empty, we will make a decision on what (if anything) need to be done next. The best solution may be to
simply take the RQ basin out of service. I will let you know what we find.
