RE: Meeting on WestPoint Stevens (WPS) Water and Sewer Facilities
Dear Mr. Willis:
I am extending an invitation to attend a meeting on the future of the WestPoint Stevens (WPS)
water and sewer facilities. In response to our request at the last meeting, we have heard
positively from most of the jurisdictions involved in the on -going discussions so we are ready to
move forward.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 13th, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the
Lumber River Council of Governments' office.
The meeting agenda will include: -
• A discussion of previous studies of the facilities,
• A discussion of additional information needed for decision makers,
• The need to explore an 'option to purchase',
• The desire to pursue a possible organizational structure
Jurisdictions that will be extended an invitation to this meeting include: Scotland County, City of
Laurinburg, Robeson County, Town of Red Springs, Town of Maxton, Moore County, Town of
Southern Pines, Town of Aberdeen, Town of Pinehurst, Town of Pinebluff and Hoke County.
I look forward to seeing your jurisdiction at this important meeting.
