F. Soil Evaluation:
1. Please specify the soil mapping units within each land application site to indicate whether it is WsB
or WsE or if it is both and update the `Figure 4' [15A NCAC 02T .0604(b)(3)]. Please also specify
on this map that the dominant soil series is White Store. The updated `Figure 4' should be signed,
sealed and dated by a North Carolina Licensed Soil Scientist [15A NCAC 02T .0604(b)].
2. The Raleigh Regional Office has recommended following changes to the 'Fill Application plan'.
a. Clear and grub site by hand in such a manner as to minimize native soil loss and compaction.
b. The provided plan indicates that "the existing ground surface should be lightly tilled to scarify
the surface and should extend at least three (3) feet beyond the intended irrigation area." This
area should be increased to extend at least five (5) feet beyond the proposed wetted area on
all sides.
c. The provided plan indicates that "the fill material should extend one (1) foot beyond the
proposed disposal area. "The fill material should extend at least five (5) feet beyond the wetted
area and blend into the natural contours of the area.
d. Remove vegetation less than 8 inches in diameter from the disposal area.
e. Avoid placing fill material under the drip line of any trees that are to be left within the disposal
area to prevent tree death (an arborist can provide more guidance on tree protection). The
application area Fill Plan will need to be modified to compensate for any area removed from
the proposed application area for tree protection.

G. Engineering Plans:
1. On sheet C-102, please add a statement that clearly specifies the depth of fill material as minimum
8 inches. Or the depth of fill should be such that it will provide one foot (12 inches) of vertical
separation between any perched seasonal high water table and the ground surface [15A NCAC 02T
.0605(q)].
H. Engineering Calculations:
1. According to Section I of the Instructions for `Form: SFRWWIS 06-16', please provide
Friction/total dynamic head calculations and system curve analysis for each pump used [15A
NCAC 02T .0604(c)(3)].
I. Site Map:
1. Please provide an enlarged version of the `overall site plan', sheet C-101. Please update the site
map to indicate the soil mapping units on all disposal sites based on changes which will be made
by the Lead Soils Scientist on the `Figure 4' [15A NCAC 02T .0604(d)(1)(B)]. Also ensure that
the updated site plan has been signed, sealed and dated by a North Carolina licensed Professional

L. Recommendations (No response required):
1. Depth of dripline:
It is mentioned in the Specifications, that driplines are typically placed at depths of 6-10 inches
below the surface, which would be considered a subsurface disposal system, and is not permitted
by the Non -Discharge branch. Hence the drip lines with emitters should be placed above -grade,
and a written letter from County Health Department denying the site for all subsurface systems is
required. [15A NCAC 02T .0604(g)]
