Matt,
This email is to confirm the support of the Chemistry Lab in allowing
the City of Greensboro to use 20ug/1 as a PQL for Cyanide. The support
of the laboratory was based on the study conducted by the City. Our Lab
realizes that lower PQL can be attained but not on a reliable basis in
environmental samples which by their nature contain matrix interferences
affecting the accuracy at low ranges. As technology advances, we will
be looking at alternative methods that can achieve lower PQLs but until
that time, we are comfortable with the decision to allow Greensboro a
PQL of 20 ug/1.
