O.Box 308 Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina 27870 CC i 7 1881 WATER QUALITY ti Subject: Permit No. NC0024201 Authorization to Construct Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District Wastewater Treatment Plant Additions and Modifications Dear Mr. Reavis: Final plans and specifications for the subject project have been reviewed and found to be satisfactory. Authorization is hereby granted for the construction of additions to the existing 6.0 MGD wastewater treatment facility to increase the capacity to 8.34 MGD activated sludge, secondary type wastewater facilities by the installation of one (1) 5000 gpm influent pump, an aeration facilities, dual (2) final clarifiers, three (3) new 3500 gpm effluent/flood discharge pumps, an additional anaerobic heated digester, additional sludge drying bed area, standby power, flood protection dike, additional operations, laboratory and shop facilities, influent and effluent sampling/monitoring, and modifications to the existing primary clarifiers and trickling filters. You are cautioned not to advertise or initiate construction until so notified by EPA. This is a Class IV Wastewater Treatment Plant and the operator in responsible charge must hold a valid Grade IV certificate. This Authorization to Construct shall be subject to revocation unless the proposed facilities are constructed in accordance with the approved plans, specifications, supporting documents, and are in compliance with the condi- tions and limitations as specified in Permit No. NC0024201. One (1) set of final approved plans and specifications is to be for- warded to you, one (1) set retained for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and two (2) sets to the Corps of Engineers.
