Please find attached the help document and Minor Variance application. Please note impacts to Zone 2
of the Tar - Pamlico Riparian Buffer only may be authorized under a Minor Variance. In addition, the
applicant must meet the practical difficulties or unnecessary hardship as defined by 15 NCAC 02B .0259
(9)(i). If the applicant proposes impacts to Zone 1 of the Tar - Pamlico Riparian Buffer or the applicant
does not meet the practical difficulties or unnecessary hardship as defined above, then a Major Variance
from the Tar - Pamlico Riparian Buffer Rules will be required. In order to request information on how to
apply for a Major Variance you will need to contact Eric Kulz at (919) 807 -6476.
