Re: Hill Street Surge Manhole Stream Repair at Hill Street & Grayland Street, NC
To Whom It May Concern:
The City of Greensboro would like to notify your office of the proposed channel repair at the water
line crossing along Hill Street and Grayland Street. The project's objective is to stabilize the eroded
stream bed by installing cross vanes as grade control immediately downstream of the water crossing
to permanently stabilize the existing channel. Presently this section of the existing channel has
eroded below grade level and jeopardizing the pressurized water line.
The length of work area at the eroded channel is about 75 feet. 125 tons of boulder /rip -rap will be
used to install cross vanes per attached plan.
Attached is the general information (vicinity map, plan view, topography layout drawings and
inventory map) regarding the subject site for your review.
Site: 1044 Hill Street (Hill Street by Gravland Street), Greensboro, NC.
Site Condition: Eroded Stream Bank
If you have any further questions, please call me at (336) 373 -2619

Re: Hill Street Project
Dear Mr. Iduwu,
I have reviewed the design for the City of Greensboro Hill St. project in Guilford
County NC. The drawing reviewed is sheet 1 and sheet 2, but has not been stamped
or sealed by anyone. Duke Energy does not object to the use of the right of way as
shown by this drawing.
In summary, the following details Duke Energy comments.
• Contractors operating grading equipment should be instructed to maintain a 25
foot barrier from any structure.
• The only soil that shall be placed within the Duke Energy R/W limits is that from
the drawing referenced above and approved by our transmission line department!
• Any damage to the line and claims due to the damage is the responsibility of the
contractor /owner.
Duke Energy also offers the following comments to ensure that other potential
conflicts are not created during construction.
• If there are design changes to any drawings that involve the right of way, Duke
Energy would like the opportunity to review these changes for compliance.
• Proper clearances must be maintained. If any construction work by Duke Energy
is required to maintain proper clearances, the cost will be the responsibility of the
developer.
In not objecting to the use of the right -of -way as shown on this drawing, Duke
Energy is not relinquishing the right to control and maintain the right -of -way as
specified in the agreements. Any damage to the tower or lines and claims caused by
the damage is the responsibility of the developer. It is the responsibility of the
contractors to ensure all persons working near the transmission lines are made
A
ti
aware of the safety hazards associated with this line. I have attached a copy of the
right -of -way restrictions as well as the approved plantings list.
Thank you for the opportunity to work with you on this project. If you have any
questions, please feel free to contact me at 336 - 634 -4633
