INTENT TO ISSUE THE FOLLOWING STORMWATER DISCHARGE PERMIT
The following Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permitted
entities have applied for an NPDES MS4 permit renewal with minor modifi-
cation to discharge stormwater from their jurisdictional area in Catawba
County. Public comment or objection to the draft permit is invited. All
comments received through Friday, June 18, 2021 will be considered in
the final determination regarding permit issuance and permit provisions.
City of Conover. Permit Number NCS000431. This MS4 discharges to
Clark Creek, Cline Creek, Conover Branch, Hildebran Creek, Long Creek,
Lyle Creek, McLin Creek, Miller Branch, Mull Creek, Mahaffie Branch and
unnamed tributaries within the Catawba River Basin.
Town of Maiden. Permit Number NCS000481. This MS4 discharges to Al-
len Creek, Betts Branch, Clark Creek, Maiden Creek, Long Branch, Bills
Branch, and Shady Branch, within the Catawba River Basin.
City of Hickory. Permit Number NCS000426. This MS4 discharges to
Drowning Creek, Horseford Creek, Frye Creek, Cripple Creek, Falling
Creek, Snow Creek, Long Shoal Creek, Henry Fork, Longview Creek,
Geitner Branch, Barger Branch, Muddy Creek, Jacobs Fork, Clarks Creek,
Miller Branch, Herman Branch, Lyle Creek and their tributaries within the
Catawba River Basin.
