Good morning Bethany, We were reviewing our soon to be expired COC for NCG120066.... our records from October 29, 2018 showed that we filled this renew from out, paid a 100.00 fee, and we were due to renew the form in October 2021...... so we did not want the COC to be expired and that is why we just filled out the renewal form today. >> The COC was automatically renewed with the others under NCG120000 that did not owe fees. We show that we will be issued a new COC in a day. >> I saw a confirmation that the COC went out to your email address. Did you get that? It was actually issued on July 1, 2021 when the General Permit was issued. Our question is ...... is this COC the same as our NCC201467 COC?? >> No, it's different. The NCG120066 is coverage under the NPDES industrial stormwater permit for landfills. This other one, NCC201467, is a certificate of coverage under the NCG010000 Construction Stormwater permit, which also applies to landfills because of the erosion and sediment control plans that typically remain open during activities. Our NCC201467 COC also has an annual 100.00 fee that we have paid twice (once in April 2020 and again in April 2021). We were issued this COC when we began constructing our Phase 5 cell. Construction is now complete... since Jan 2021. >> That's right, the annual fee is the same amount as the other NPDEs general permit. The annual fee will be billed each year that the Construction Stormwater COC remains active. You can terminate the COC when the E&SC plan has been closed out completely (but I think at landfills there is often an on -going E&SC Plan?) You will have to ascertain whether all land disturbing activities have ceased and obtain close-out documentation for the E&SC plan in order to submit a Notice of Termination (NOT) request to close out the Construction SW COC. Otherwise it remains active for the length of the land disturbance. Can you help explain the difference? AND how often do we pay each COC, is it annually or every 3 or 5 years? We are confused with it all. >> The annual fee applies to each NPDES permit each year. The Construction COCs are billed on a cycle reflecting when the COC was issued, but I am not sure exactly how the industrial (NCG12 COC) fee cycle works. Finally, where can we find both COC's online? >> You can access all permit records for each of these in our Laserfiche Repository.
