The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the City of Hendersonville
DCAR on 8/02/2021. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance
with the conditions and limitations specified in Non-discharge Permit No. WQ0011381. The findings and
comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report
entitled "Compliance Inspection Report".

There were no significant issues or findings noted during the inspection and therefore, a response to this
inspection report is not required.

Inspection Summary:
Mikal Willmer, with the Asheville Regional Office, conducted a review of the City of Hendersonville's 2020 “no distribution”
DCAR annual report on August 2, 2021. This review was conducted to determine whether the facility processed and
monitored all residuals in compliance with Permit No. WQ0011381.
The facility appeared to be operating in compliance with all requirements of their DCAR permit. The City reported "no
distribution" for 2020 and has not distributed since 1998 due to nuisance issues using lime in a populated area.
Approximately 654.3 dry tons of residuals were disposed of in White Oak Landfill located at 3898 Fines Creek Rd.
Waynesville. The City is currently exploring alternative Class A options and other disposal means. Until a decision is made,
the City will continue to dispose of all residuals in an approved landfill.
