Dear Mr. Snider:
On behalf of the Town of Yadkinville, Synagro is responding to your letter dated July 23rd, 2021, and
received July 26t'`, 2021 regarding the review and comments on the 2020 annual report for this
program. The response to each item listed in the violation are below:
1. During the 2020 calendar year, a total of 78.73 dry tons was land applied from the Yadkinville
WTP which exceeds the currently permitted maximum of 30 dry tons. This is a result of
elevated percent solids and an increased amount of material being land applied. As a
corrective action, the maximum permitted dry tonnage will be increased in the upcoming
permit renewal to accommodate any fluctuation in solids content or overall residuals
production.
2. Additionally, when analyzing the Yadkinville WWTP nonhazardous results, it was observed
that 2 constituents listed in the required analysis were reported at detection limits above the
acceptable regulatory limit. It is understood that a reporting limit above the regulatory limit
cannot confirm compliance with required maximum concentrations. As a corrective action, the
current lab completing this testing will be informed of the necessary detection limits to be able
to display permit compliance.
