Subject: Additional Flow Allocation for the Fayetteville Public Works Commission's
Rockfish Creek Water Reclamation Facility — REVISED
Dear Mr. Allen:
In December 2020, as part of its Delegated Permitting Authority, the Fayetteville Public Works
Commission (PWC) requested that the Rockfish Creek Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) be
allocated a flow of 400,000 gallons for calendar year 2021. To date, approximately 370,000
gallons have been allocated through our Delegated Permitting Authority. We anticipate that any
additional permits issued during the remainder of 2021 will exceed the requested allocation of
400,000 gallons. Therefore, we are requesting an additional allocation of 200,000 gallons for the
remainder of 2021. This will bring PWC's total allocation for 2021 to 600,000 gallons for the
Rockfish Creek WRF.
For the time period January through June, the Rockfish Creek WRF received an average of 17.05
million gallons per day (MGD), with a permitted capacity of 21 MGD. PWC is currently
working with a consultant to complete the engineering design to expand the Rockfish Creek WRF
capacity to 28 MGD.
