DAMS Director Inlet Watch Yacht Club, Inc. c/o Troy Moore 801 Paoli Court Wilmington, NC 28409 Dear Mr. Moore, This is with reference to the request received by Patrick Amico, Field Representative, to refine State Permit No. 12-06, which was issued to Inlet Watch Yacht Club, Inc. on February 1, 2006 and includes maintenance dredging and shoreline stabilization at the existing Inlet Watch Yacht Club located adjacent to Myrtle Grove Sound, in Wilmington, New Hanover County_ State Permit No. 12-06 has been modified, refined, and renewed several times since issuance. State Permit No. 12-06 is due to expire on March 19, 2022. The action proposed in your submittal is to install one (1) Guardian 16000-827 floating boat lift platform in slip #104 at Inlet Watch Yacht Club Marina. The Guardian floating boat lift platform would measure approximately 13' in width and 24' in length. The submittal also includes a request to enlarge an existing finger pier in slip #003, out 7' waterward to an existing piling within the slip. Upon reviewing the information provided, the Division of Coastal Management has determined that the proposed action is consistent with existing State rules and regulations and is in keeping with the original purpose and intent of the permit. This Letter of Refinement authorizes the modification of State Permit No. 12-06 as described in your email and attachments dated received January 26, 2021. Please note this refinement does not alleviate the need to obtain any other local, state or federal permits. The sign CAMA exemption is attached for your records. Also, the boat lift that we were discussing last week is a Guardian Boat Lift, which is appears to be almost identical in design to the HarborHoist lifts. The Inlet Watch Yacht Club member that is requesting the installation of the Guardian boat lift is in the 35' Wet Slip #104. The boat lift model that he's requesting is 24' long x 13' wide. I've attached the brochure and manual for the Guardian lifts for your review. As we've requested with the installation of the previous boat lifts in Inlet Watch Yacht Club, we'd like to request the Guardian Boat Lift be approved for Wet Slip 4104 under a Letter of Refinement to our existing LAMA Major Permit 12-06. The brochure and manual provide the specifications for the Guardian boat lift. I'll forward a diagram using an overhead image of the location of Wet Slip #104 in a separate email.
