In response to the NOV received on July 1, 2021 regarding non-compliance for the month of
March 2021 I would like to offer the following response.
On 3-25/26-21 heavy rains on saturated ground caused sustained influent flows to exceed
treatment capacity for an extended period of time causing a temporary plant upset which
resulted in both a weekly and monthly non-compliance for total suspended solids and BOD for
the March 2021 DMR. By late morning the flows subsided and the plant returned to operating
within permitted parameters. An email was sent to DWQ-WSRO Gary Hudson et al on 4-1-21
with the related flow chart. There was no instance of equipment failure or operator error for
any of the listed noncompliance's.
Hopefully this will help explain the non -compliances and exhibit our pro -active stance and
effort to keep all interested parties notified of events that may have public impact in a timely
manner as well as help mitigate any monetary penalties associated with the non -compliances.
All of the information relevant to this event were emailed to DWQ-WSRO at the time of
occurrence.
