Reopening permit for City of Newton -Clark Creek WWTP
NPDES Permit No. NC0036196
Catawba County
The Technical Support Branch has recently evaluated newly sub-
mitted pretreatment headworks information for the subject facility.
This information on the pollutant, toluene, was not available when
the January 16th memo reopening Newton's NPDES permit was distrib-
uted. Newton has recently submitted updated pretreatment data for
toluene inputs to its facility from a major SIU. After review of
this data, it has been determined that the NPDES permit should be
reopened, pursuant to Part III Condition E of the subject permit,
for the addition of an effluent limit for toluene as indicated on the
attached approval form. Existing permit limits and/or monitoring
requirements not detailed in the attached approval form should
remain unchanged.
