V. ADDITIONAL REGIONAL STAFF REVIEW ITEMS
On June 29, 2021, WSRO staff made site visits to the proposed new land application fields for review. Mr. Brent Collins
of EMA accompanied staff on the site visits. The residuals source facility was not visited during this permitting event.
The proposed site maps and soils reports were confirmed to be accurate and representative for the fields. It is this office's
understanding that the increase in annual dry tons is a temporary measure to assist with total cleanout of basins at the
WWTP to allow repair/replacement due to flooding damages under a FEMA project. Below is a summary of notes and
observations from the review.
0 Soil tests results showed acceptable background levels of metals (i.e., below EPA risk assessment acceptable
soil concentrations).
• Soil test results indicated a need for lime amendment to RC-001-Field 1 and DV-009-Fields 1 & 2 due to soil
pH levels below 6.0. Therefore, lime amendment is required. This was verbally discussed with the Permittee's
representative during site reviews.
• Based upon the nutrient concentrations provided in the application, there should be sufficient acreage available
with the addition of the four new fields to accommodate loading within agronomic limits.
