Watkins, PE Lawrence R.Zucchino Dear Mr. McLean, The purpose of this letter is to inform you that the Environmental Management Commission (EMC), in their March 10, 1994 meeting, reviewed and approved your water supply watershed protection ordinance, map and management plan submitted in compliance with the Water Supply Watershed Protection Act (NCGS 143-214.5). The Commission also approved your request for a modification in the local application of the 5%-70% provision. Please be advised that any subsequent amendments to your ordinance must meet or exceed the minimum statewide standards and must be submitted to the EMC for approval. The EMC and the Division of Environmental Management (DEM) are extremely pleased with the effort your municipality and the other affected local governments have demonstrated throughout this process. If you have any questions regarding the Water Supply Watershed Protection Program or need assistance with interpretation of any of the statewide requirements, please do not hesitate to contact Lisa Martin or Steve Zoufaly in the Water Quality Section of the Division of Environmental Management at (919) 733-5083. Your interest and cooperation in protecting one of our state's most vital resources, water supply watersheds, is greatly appreciated. Sinc el r- David H. Moreau cc: Rex Gleason, MRO DEM Mat.
