Mr. Brown, Thank you for your PCN, dated 5/21/2021, for the above referenced project. I have reviewed the information and need clarification before proceeding with verifying the use of Nationwide Permit (NWP) 18 (https://saw- reg.usace.army.mil/NWP2017/2017NWP18.pdf). Please submit the requested information below (via e-mail is fine) within 30 days of receipt of this Notification, otherwise we may deny verification of the use of the Nationwide Permit or consider your application withdrawn and close the file: 1) Additional detail is needed in your project drawing. To facilitate this, I have attached a sketch showing your property overlaid on an aerial photo with the approximate location of stream channels drawn in. Please draw on your proposed driveway, stream culvert, and house pad locations on this sketch and return the information to me. 2) Also Include a zoomed -in plan view of the crossing (see attached "Pages from 00000001.pdf") showing the stream channel, culvert pipe, any rip rap proposed in the channel or on the stream banks, and toe of fill slope (i.e. limits of disturbance). Please ensure that this view is detailed enough to show that the driveway crossing is designed as close to perpendicular to the stream channel as possible to minimize stream impacts; 3) Also Include a profile view of the crossing (see attached "Pages from 00000001.pdf") showing the pipe (please also specify the diameter and length of pipe), existing stream bed elevation, and any rip rap proposed in the stream bed; 4) Any rip rap in the stream bed must be "keyed in" such that the top of the rip rap is no higher than the existing stream bed (NWP 18 Regional Condition 3.5), and the profile view should clearly show that; Please let me know if you have any questions.
