I checked with Sue Burke, Senior Engineer, who oversees the NPDES permit for the Town Operations Center at 6850
Millhouse Rd, and have copied her here.
There was a NPDES industrial permit (NCG080691) for 1099 Airport Rd when the Town's Municipal Operations Center
(Public Works & Transit) were located there. Attached are cover pages from the SPCC and SWPPP for that site (from
2003).
The municipal operations were then moved to 6850 Millhouse Rd under a new permit number (NCG080800), though
there are ultimately several addresses associated with those facilities since there are many buildings at that site for
Public Works & Transit. The facility name for that permit should be updated to Town Operations Center, since that's
what it's called.

Thanks for contacting us about this. I see the original application had the right address, so we need to revise that. I
want to verify the facility name since that application called it "Chapel Hill Municipal Operations" — maybe it listed the
formal name of Public Works instead of what it should have been? Or maybe that was just an older name. We can
correct that, too.
I also noticed this facility in our system was tied to an older inactive permit, NCG080691. Was that something located at
1099 Airport Road?
Before I just change the name and address, let's make sure. I have a feeling the person who entered the application just
tied it to another existing facility at a different Chapel Hill location instead of setting up a new facility. A new facility
record is the better solution if the other permit should maintain history of something on Airport Road.
Let me know if there was a separate facility on Airport Road, and I'll make the needed changes to correct this permit this
week. I don't see any records in our database for that other one, probably because it was rescinded long ago.

I hope this finds you doing well! The Town of Chapel Hill is in the process of preparing for our MS4 audit and there's
been some confusion by RRO staff about the Town's separate NPDES Industrial permit for our Town Operations Center
at 6850 Millhouse Rd (see email thread below). It looks like the facility name and address needs to be updated in the
GIS data. Below is a screenshot of from the Active Stormwater Permit map. The info highlighted in yellow should say:
Facility —Town Operations Center
Facility Address-6850 Millhouse Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27516
Technically, Public Works is at 6850 Millhouse Rd and Transit is at 6900 Millhouse Rd, but they are all part of one
complex under the same permit.

The Municipal Operations Center used to be located at 1099 Airport Rd when the NPDES permit (NCG080691) was first
issued in 2007. The Town Operations Center was later built and operations moved to a new Public Works and Transit
facility complex at 6850 Millhouse Rd and was issued a new permit (NCG080800) in 2012.
Both the Public Works and Transit facilities (collectively the Town Operations Center) are covered under the SWPPP.
It appears that NCDEMLR GIS data for the location needs to be updated to 6850 Millhouse Rd. I'll email Bethany G. and
let her know.

the miscommunication. Both the buildings at 1099 Airport Road and 6850 Millhouse Road appear to be within the same

The permit number is NCG080800 (not NCG080000).
Did you try clicking on the links I embedded in my email? They will take you to the permit info on NCDEMLR's Laserfiche
and the Active Stormwater Permit map, respectively. If you use the Permit map, navigate to 6850 Millhouse Road and
click on the yellow dot there — it will open a pop up window that also includes a link back to the Laserfiche files.
