SLUDGE MANAGEMENT PLAN
Oak Ridge Military Academy WWTP
WASTEWATER TREAMENT PLANT
NPDES PERMIT NO. NC0046043
1) Sludge is generated from Oak Ridge Military Academy through the activated
sludge process by routinely "wasting" activated sludge into an aerobic digester.
2) Sludge from aerobic digester is routinely allowed to settle by gravity and
supernatant is decanted from holding tank.
3) Thickened sludge is then removed by septic tank truck and manifest documents
are maintained to verify date of sludge removal, volume pumped, location of
approved facility (i.e. municipal WWTP) receiving sludge, and cost of sludge
hauling/disposal.
